Real Chicago Wedding: Katie & Wyatt, Chicago History Museum

When you think of an outdoor ceremony in August in Chicago, you assume HEAT! Katie and Wyatt got so lucky with a perfect 70-degree sunny day. We could not have asked for a more beautiful evening for a ceremony on the outdoor plaza at the iconic Chicago History Museum

The ladies got ready in the spacious Elizabeth Taylor Suite at the Ambassador Chicago Hotel, where they sipped champagne while Bianca Sansosti Artistry worked their hair and makeup magic. Katie's custom wedding dress from Alyssa Kristin Bridal was absolute perfection paired with her gorgeous bouquet of orange and peach from Revel Decor

The suite's balcony overlooking our beautiful city served as the perfect first look spot for Katie and Wyatt! After the couple's portraits at the Ambassador Chicago, it was time to head out for Wedding Party photos! Katie and Wyatt wanted a combination of skyline and lake, so North Avenue Beach and the Lincoln Park Zoo were the perfect fit. So obsessed with these summery, sun-drenched photos!

While the Wedding Party was out and about, our all-star team was busy setting up at the Chicago History Museum. The ceremony and cocktail hour were held on the plaza outside overlooking a beautiful city park. Like I said earlier, it was such a gift to be able to be outdoors for these parts of Katie and Wyatt's day - you better believe we had rain and extreme heat back-up plans just in case Mother Nature decided to do something crazy!

Guests were greeted by beautiful melodies played by a few of the talented musicians at BeatMix Music. Revel Decor did an amazing job of dressing up the plaza for the ceremony with lush, garden-style arrangements flanking the aisle.

As guests headed over to enjoy cocktails and delicious hors d'oeuvres from Limelight Catering, they picked their escort card off this amazing boxwood wall. The "push pins" were actual flowers called "billy balls!" Such a fun, unique touch!

The Chicago Room at the History Museum is one of my favorite rooms in the entire city. One of the things I love most is that, even though I have worked there countless times, it looks so unique and different each time. We worked with the incredible team at Revel Decor to bring in some super cool, custom elements that helped to completely transform the space. When guests came in from cocktails, they were greeted by the custom bar and bar-back that looked like they were made for the space!

Each of Katie and Wyatt's guests found their seat at the table by looking for their personalized menu card. I love how Bluebird Paper Company carried the sketch of the History Museum onto their wedding day papers as well! This was such a great way to keep the details cohesive!

Katie and Wyatt's guests danced the night away to the dynamic and energetic TC2 Band - the dance floor was packed all night! We ended this wonderful day with the most delicious sweets table from Limelight Catering, including "W" cookies as a nod to their last name and their love of the Chicago Cubs!

To sum this wedding up in a word: PERFECTION. From the couple, to the weather, to the creative team - it was just a magical day! Hope you enjoy these incredible photos from Emilia Jane Photography as much as we do!
