Real Chicago Wedding: Tayonon & Jason, Promontory Point

An Intimate Affair in Hyde Park Chicago

Tayonon and Jason are the definition of handling things with grace. From postponing and waiting over two years for their wedding day to moving their outdoor ceremony inside due to weather, no matter what curveballs were thrown at them, these two had the biggest smiles and remained joyful throughout their wedding day. These two held their celebration in Hyde Park at Promontory Point surrounded by their closest friends and family. Despite the rain, the sun shined through the clouds providing the most breathtaking rainbow and created the picturesque backdrop that made them fall in love with the location in the first place.

Wedding Traditions, New & Old

Their day included so many special details that reflected their journey as a couple. We honored cultural traditions and Jamaican roots by jumping the broom and serving delicious jerk chicken from Jewell Catering. Music was provided by DJ Papa G, who was the same DJ that played at the club where they originally met. Tayonon’s daughter sang an original piece that was dedicated to the couple and kicked off dancing in the most special way!

We ended the night with a glow stick dance party and a soul train line for the books! We could not have asked for a better day for such a deserving couple!
